Tampa Brew Tours is dedicated to providing a unique craft beer experience in the Tampa Bay area.  Our brewery tours provide our guests with a taste of Florida's burgeoning craft beer market in a luxurious, fun, and safe way:  a stretch limousine.

Hoppy New Year from Tampa Brew Tours!!!

We can't believe how quickly 2014 came and went.  That being said, we are extremely excited about what 2015 has in store for craft beer drinkers in the Tampa Bay area. There seem to be new breweries popping up all over the Tampa Bay area and, as such, it's definitely a great time to be a craft beer drinker.  As we say goodbye to 2014, we hold up a pint glass to our local breweries and thank them for providing some of the finest craft beer in the country.

If you're in mood for a great time exploring Tampa Bay's finest microbreweries in our flagship Chrysler 300 stretch limousine, then look no further.   For inspiration purposes, here are a few pictures from our most recent Tampa Brew Tours whereby we made visits to Coppertail Brewing Company, Three Palms Brewing, Six Ten Brewing, Southern Brewing & Winemaking, Florida Avenue Brewing, and many, many more!  Here's to an awesome 2015!

Of course, you can always finish your Tampa Brew Tour with a little red carpet treatment.

Autumn Beer Selections

Now that summer has officially passed, despite it still being 90 degrees here in Tampa, breweries have begun to release their autumn beer selections.  If you're a fan of pumpkin, cinnamon, or any other ingredient that reminds you of hay rides and cool weather, then the following breweries have something special for you.  Here is a roundup of our favorite breweries that have served or will be serving some fantastic autumn inspired beers:

Six Ten Brewing

Six Ten introduced their "Six Ten Pumpkin" a few weeks ago and our beer tourists thoroughly enjoyed this offering.  Like all of Six Ten's beers, they have a balanced approach to their pumpkin beer.  You can get your glass rim dipped in a seasonal sweet/spicy "dressing" to add additional flavor.

Three Palms Brewing

Three Palms, located in east Tampa, introduced their "Palmkin Pumpkin Ale" a few weeks ago and it was an immediate hit.  Heck, they even put it on Nitro and it was consumed quickly.  Their "Palmkin Pumpkin Ale" was brewed with "pumpkin and pumpkin pie spices."  For those who aren't into the pumpkin-inspired beers, Three Palms also had a "Caramel Apple Wee Heavy" for limited release.  Either way, they'll be gone quickly.

Of course, with over 25 breweries in the Tampa Bay area, we can't list all of the autumn inspired beers available, so we encourage you, the craft beer drinker, to explore the many breweries in our area and try some great seasonal selections.  You can do so in a safe and luxurious manner with on one of our Tampa Brew Tours powered by Bayshore Limo.

Cheers!

Why Beer Festivals Are Great

We are pretty darn lucky to be in the middle of one of the hot spots for craft beer in Florida.  Just take a look at this heat map:

Besides Jacksonville, it appears the Tampa Bay area is the craft beer mecca of Florida.  So, whenever a beer festival like Tampa Bay Beer Week or Creative Loafing's Spring Hops comes around, it's a great opportunity for the breweries and craft beer enthusiasts, like us, to come together and sample/drink some of the finest beers in the area.  Recently, Tampa Bay Brewing Company had their Bad A** Beer Fest bringing 20 of our area's breweries to commemorate their TBBCo's new brewpub near Oldsmar.

Updates in the World of Craft Beer (and Tampa Brew Tours)

Holy crap, it's been a while since we last posted anything on our blog.  Here is a rundown what is happening in the craft beer world:

1.  Growler-gate - although a growler bill was scheduled to be passed this legislative session and we'd finally have 64 oz. growlers.  Unfortunately, the beer distributors wanted to get their share and decided to hijack the bill to include growth-busting amendments.  Although the bill passed the Florida Senate, there have been rumblings from Tallahassee that the bill won't pass in the Florida House.

2.  Our Brewery Showcase Series - it started off well with Southern Brewing & Winemaking's post, but has slowed a bit.  We're still hoping our Bay area breweries will send in their side of the story in the next few months.

3.  Our Service - we have pretty much fine-tuned our limousine guided microbrewery tour service to include the following:

  • 4 hours of limousine service
  • Pickup and drop off at your home, office, or hotel.
  • A pint of beer on us for every member of your party at each brewery that we visit.

4.  Take a peek at our gallery page to see how much fun folks have on our Tampa Brew Tour.

Brewery Showcase: Southern Brewing & Winemaking

We would like to introduce the first installment of our "Brewery Showcase" series.  Every now and then we will have one of the breweries on our Tampa Brew Tours provide a little background information to help you decide on which brewery to visit during your ridiculously awesome Tampa Brew Tour.

Without further ado, we would like to introduce you to Southern Brewing & Winemaking.

Nestled in the heart of Seminole Heights, Southern Brewing & Winemaking is a Tampa Brew Tours staff and guest favorite.

One of Tampa’s best breweries is hidden in plain sight in the form of a giant purple building in Seminole Heights.  Southern Brewing & Winemaking has been in the area for quite some time, but we are just now starting to get noticed in the local beer scene.

As a company, we’re an ever-evolving being. We started as a brewery wholesale supplier on Busch Blvd in 2002, became a homebrew supply shop in 2008, and then moved to our current location in 2011 and added a brewery/winery, taproom, and biergarten. We’re constantly growing and changing along with the local craft beer scene.

We have a less traditional staff - our jobs are very fluid and we share a lot of responsibilities - everyone on staff is a homebrewer and helps out in the shop, bar, and brewery.  We have licenses for both brewing and winemaking, which means we have a lot of room to play in regards to what we can create and put on tap. We brew on a one-barrel system, so every single beer we make is small batch, and we are constantly putting out fun and exciting new recipes. Our 24 taps include beer, cider, mead, pyments, wine, and soda, so you’ll find a wider and more interesting variety on tap than at a traditional brewery.

We are the only brewery in Tampa Bay that offers growlers for everything on tap - anything you taste in the taproom can be taken home with you. However, we don’t distribute, so you won’t find our beers or ciders anywhere else.  The taproom is set up inside the homebrew supply store so customers can enjoy a brew while they put a recipe together, or those that just come to drink can bask in the delicious smell of grains and hops.

Our beautiful, spacious biergarten is pet and family friendly, and we have food trucks on site Thursday through Sunday, as well as live music on Fridays and Saturdays.

Our favorite beers:

Bungalow Weisse – a Berliner Weisse (sour wheat ale) aged over fresh fruit.

Atonement Rye – a smooth, well balance Rye IPA.

West Side – a hop-forward West Coast inspired IPA.

Fragmented Porter – a thick, robust porter with roasted malt and chocolate tones.

Orange Blossom Cider – a light and refreshing apple cider sweetened with a hint of local Orange Blossom honey.
